Licensed Life Insurance Agent at Matrix Direct
Recently, I received an incredibly nice compliment from a client named Melissa. I want to share it with my co-workers and the company, because I think in some ways, we all earned it.
Melissa was in the midst of doing her homework shopping for life insurance. There are so many life insurance companies and policies that it can be quite confusing. We talked for a bit and I asked questions, and listened carefully to her responses. I walked her through term life as a concept, and how the application works, along with other things she might want to consider.
Later that day, she sent this note:
“I spoke with four different agencies today and I have to say, Joe’s outstanding courtesy and service is the main reason I choose to work with Matrix Direct. Joe helped me understand how term life insurance works and made me feel very comfortable during the application process. Most consumers probably are a little wary or intimidated buying a product like life insurance on line. When I first read this, I was blown away by her kindness, and even humbled. Really, I was just doing my job and enjoying our conversation. It’s what we do here.
And that’s when it occurred to me, “This is what Matrix Direct does. We help people and treat them the way we would like to be treated.”

Insurance companies in general can seem intimidating, because they’re asking about your most personal information before deciding something about you. I completely understood how Melissa might feel, so I treated her the way I’d like to be treated.
The way I treated Melissa that day is the way Matrix Direct and my co-workers treat one another and all clients. Melissa’s kindness to then take the time to treat me with such appreciative feedback is one of the nicest examples I know in “what goes around, comes around.”
